Literature Circles Group Presentation
Mr. Bolf
6-4-09
50 Points

During our final exam period you and your Literature Circles Group will give a presentation on the novel that you have been reading. You will pretend that you are appearing in front of an audience at the Printers Row Book Fair in Chicago. In the audience are owners of independent bookstores who are considering whether or not they should purchase the book that you have read. Your group has been hired to present an honest, insightful, and intelligent discussion of the book. The question that your group will focus on is as follows:
Should the independent book store owner’s purchase and sell the book that you read?

The duration of the presentation will be based on the number of group members. If a group has three members, they will be expected to speak for nine minutes. If a group has five members, then their presentation will be fifteen minutes long.

Each member of the group will be grading individually. The value of the presentation will be fifty points, and this grade will be a part of a student’s fourth quarter grade.

Every student should speak for about three minutes or try his or her hardest to be an intelligent voice in the conversation.

You will have time this week in order to plan your presentation.

You may be creative, but do draw serious conclusions about the book.

Your group must have a visual aid as well.
